Like a Girl.

Got my challenge scheduled this week. I will reveal it AFTER it is done as it is one that I am not going to be able to have anyone else attend. But its a good one and I swear I didn’t procrastinate, I really have it booked! 🙂

I thought I would share this video. So… last night while watching Super Bowl commercials I am sure you got a glimpse of the “Like a Girl” video. Well, I actually watched a longer version of the video that is closer to 3 mins long about a month ago on YouTube through another bloggers site. Which you can see here. I really, really like this video. I grew up with two older brothers who I love dearly. When I was little, I was all about playing outside, getting dirty, adopting wild animals, riding horses, fishing, playing sports, you name it. My brothers never made me feel like I didn’t fit in or wasn’t one of them. But also, I was and am proud to be a girl. I love all the girly things especially as an adult. I think the message here is just be yourself. I am proud to be a girl, run like a girl etc. I throw a pretty great football, but a baseball…well I’m not bad at it because I am a female. I am just plain bad at it. 🙂

I have definitely said “like a girl,” in a negative manner many times. I never really thought of it any different. But I think the message here is let’s not use someone’s gender as a insult.  God made both men and women differently and beautifully. I am so glad I am a girl. Oh my goodness, am I glad. And I am definitely not ashamed of it.

Check back in Friday for the results of my challenge!
