I got ready for church this morning, knowing I had to wear the headband. I tried on about 3 different outfits. None seemed to work with it. This is the same headband I have had forever. Didn’t have time this week to pick up a new one. I contemplated on if I had enough time to go buy one that would match more things. I didn’t. At one point I told Johnny, “I don’t think I can wear this.” His supportive response was, “You need to read your blog.” Point taken. I sucked it up and wore it, totally aware of this odd thing across my forehead on the car ride there.
By the time we got to church and I mingled for a minute, took the little man to class and headed to the auditorium, I pretty much felt okay about it. I liked it. No one had said to me yet, “What on earth is on your head?!” So I got through it. Afterwards I thought “That wasn’t so bad,” and decided it just took some getting use to. I am definitely purchasing another to wear. Even though this is such a small deal, it makes me realize that trying new things is good. You never know what you may like or what you may be missing out on if you don’t just try.
A couple of my friends decided to take the challenge as well. My friend Jessica sent me a few model hair photos along with a message saying “Totally out of the box but I think I am going to go for it.” She had been contemplating on getting a new hairstyle and color for a few months and decided now was the time to take the plunge. The first photo is before and the second two are the awesome after pics! She is very happy with it and glad she did it. What a big change! I am such a chicken when it comes to changing my hair. She was so brave and she looks amazing!
One of my best friends; Shalyn, sent me this picture with a text that said, “Okay I am doing it, wearing an outfit that totally isn’t me but I thought was cute?!” I am so proud of her. This sweater was totally out of her comfort zone, but longing to get out and be seen. She didn’t feel it was her but after some getting used to she felt great! And she rocked it!
So what’s next? What is the next uncomfortable thing I am going to do? I have been struggling this week with finding classes in the area or events that I could attend. Does anyone know a healthy cleanse I could do for a day, or of some classes that are offered this week…whether that be dance, pottery, poetry, cooking? I am having a tough time figuring out what to do and I need to know by tomorrow so I can get it on the schedule! Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated!
